Not VE Avani review
Throughwork
An ‘Amazon choice’, for headphone amps, is not an independent company—they are short‐run commissions from factories. A reviewer has tracked them. Venture Electronics re‐sourced this one, then re‐baranded.

Build
The quality feels reasonable. The Avani is average size with braid cable, and two slightly large but unobtrusive housings. Despite cable sheaths machined from the metal, feels robust. The Avani fits reasonably into other plugs and sockets. Housings are finished in satin black paint. The black finishes fit with the black cable—I make make the Avani aesthetically unobtrusive, so good.
Sound
Average volume boost. Volume range is outstanding. Neat at attack and decay. Reasonable overall timing. Good on swells. You can hear the low notes, perhaps a little muted. There seems to be a slight lift—high in the frequency response, near crackles. Detail is only reasonable, not obtrusive or missing. There’s good color everywhere, though I heard high woodwinds a little thin. Resulting positions are only reasonable, vague, but scale is good.
A good voice amp. A good orchestral amp. Despite unstellar timing and detail, it’s alright for pop and rock due to sound understanding and the volume range. The stable delivery and splash of color is nice for solo instruments, though it’s short on insight. On the basis of what I’ve said already, the Avani is a soundtrack amp and some. I give up, construction of the Avani is a way of balancing amp virtues which is reasonable‐to‐good at everything.

Assess
Note, the people who source and rebrand this amp do not approve of ‘Amazon recommended’ amps in general, only the amps they have picked and distribute.
This little electronic gadget has moved further than Marco Polo—from a Chinese factory, to Amazon distribution (probably America), tracked to source by Venture Electronics, sent from there across the Arab states and Europe. And what do I call it? I set on VE’s insistence. The build is good. The Avani is good at getting the gist of sound without muddling, the volume range is good, and it delivers color. Yes, it isn’t the most detailed, and comes through as papery at times. It’s a good balance of attributes that works for nearly anything.
The people who picked and supply this amp care, and know what they are doing. The amp seems to be a basic chip perhaps with good power supply and support electronics. At the time of writing, the most likeable and generally acceptable combination of virtues delivered by any amp in the bracket.
